Glede na zmogljivosti AC serverja, sem se jaz vedno najbolj bal ravno cheatanja. Ki sploh ni težko. Sploh pri kakšnih modanih dirkalnikih ali progah. Tukaj je še veliko prostora za izboljšave.

 

Sicer pa smo v iRacing temi. V bodoče mogoče spet obnovim subscription, če bo kaj časa za furat. Še raje, če se nas nabere kaka grupa pa kaj skupaj odfuramo (ne rabimo svoje lige, samo da nisem edini slovenček na dirki).

Nas je kar nekaj, ki vozimo. Tako da ne boš edini slovenček ;) Ti kar obnovi iracing ;)

Ni mi dalo miru in sem malo povprašal. Client zracuna vse. Drugace ne more biti zaradi vec razlogov. Spodaj je nekaj korespondence.

I was wondering if somebody knows if in multiplayer mode is the server that does the computation for all of the cars or is the server just collecting and distributing car information (like position and speed) for remote clients and then each of the client calculates the physics on its own.

I would assume the latter plus some prediction by the clients in case the server does not send the new data on time.

There was a vivid debate about this in a local forum where I live and I've said I would ask directly.

The server just provides location, the local machine does all the calculations.

For your own car:

The client handles all the physics and sends the result (probably position, velocity and acceleration among others) to the server.

For all other cars:

The server sends their position, velocity and acceleration to the client, the client predicts where the car will be some time in advance (to counter the lag) and shows the car.

Then there is a bunch of checks on the server of course. Things like whether you cut the course and should get a black flag are probably handled on both client and server (only server or only client would allow many mistakes on bad connections, and on very busy servers with team races (eg 50 x 6 people connected) it seems you can get black flags much more quickly indicating that something on the server is not quite keeping up. But not sure about that. This message was edited 1 time(s).

All I can offer you is:

I've been here since the get go; this info has often been repeated piecemeal by staff, usually in a discussion about netcode but also in topics about adding features like flashing headlights; the communication between server & client, and vice versa, uses UDP which means that neither side knows if the other is getting the data, so logically having all the realtime computation on the server is not going to work.

iRacing cheaterje kar dobro pohendla, so naredili tudi en video prispevek o tem kako jih iščejo...

 

Assetto Corsa pa po mojih izkušnjah nima nobenega anti-cheat orodja - razen checksum, ki ga izvajajo na originalnih progah in dirkalnikih ... Nočem pisat podrobnosti, da ne bi dal komu kakšnih idej.

Delajo na polno zadnje čase.

 

Po drugi strani so zgleda uničili zelo priljubljeno RUF serijo. Kot prvo so šli iz open setupa v fixed, kar je razburilo nemalo ljudi in vojna med privrženci ene in druge strani še kar traja. Kot drugo pa je to ena izmed serij, ki ni bila deležna novega V6 modela gum ter torzije šasije. Kaj je bil cilj tega manevra nimam pojma, sploha če upoštevamo, da je bila serija kar dobro obiskana. Škoda, ker se avto res dobro vozi, kar noter padeš.

Malo sem brskal po IR forumu in zgleda, da "dynamic track feature" prihaja ven v S1/2016, kar pomeni z buildom v decembru 2015. Po teaser-ju sodeč bo to hudo noro... ..prehitevanja izven idealne linije, kjer ni gripa,....
